What's in My Monday Bag?

I have a bag that I nicknamed long ago the...."Monday Bag."

It's a bag that I take to work on Mondays that's full of food and other stuff other stuff that helps me stay on track with my food choices during the week.

I usually pack the bag on Sunday night before going to bed or Monday morning at 'O dark thirty before I leave for work.  Did you know that I arrive at work usually around 6:30AM, and this is of my own choosing?  Yeah, I'm one of those crazy morning people.

Anyways, here's this morning's Monday bag.  Try to contain your jealousy of my office's tres chic wood panelling and pastel pink guest chairs which are AWE-SOME:

Here's what's in this morning's bag:
From left to right:
  • Fage 2% plain yogurts
  • Bariatric Advantage Calcium Chewy Bites
  • Baby Arugula (LOVE!)
  • Goat cheese crumbles (my crack)
  • 3 oz. pre-portioned chopped chicken breast in tupperwares
  • Hard boiled eggs
Other foods/items that are sometimes in the Monday bag, but not today?
  • Splenda packets
  • Crystal Light/Propel Zero packets
  • 1/2 gallon 1% Milk
  • String Cheese
  • Salad dressing
  • Diet Hot Cocoa packets (the 25 calorie ones)
Having all these healthy food choices ready to go helps me resist the temptations that can sometimes happen, especially when a coworker says, "Hey, I'm gonna hit up the Taco Bell drive-thru, want anything?"

  1. too funny I was just thinking of starting one. I usually pack my lunch everyday but I will be starting my pre-op and thought why not just bring in a gallon of skim and a bucket of pre-op shake powder on Monday for the week!
I get in at 5:30....love those early mornings to myself before the office gets crazy

  2. I have a Monday Bag too! Just for breakfasts at this point - a huge container of Fage 0% greek yogurt, a bag of protein shake mix, a bottle of Kefir, and Monday's lunch.

When I'm post-op, I'll most likely add in some lunch stuff - right now I pack at least 4 days a week.

Good to see that someone as awesome as LBG has a Monday Bag - makes me feel better about my own planning :)

  7. I am at work at 6:40...but I assure you, it is not by choice. I am soooo not a morning person. Not being a morning person is exactly why I do a Monday bag. If I didn't I would never remember to take things on a daily basis that early in the morning.

  9. eek...While you are rolling out of bed at dark-oclock I am snoozing and like it that way. I wish the world ran on a night clock.

Great ideas for food and the Monday bag. We so need to get a grip at our house on what we stock and then of course actually eating the stuff we stock. Ah...a toast to the organized. You need to help us poor fly by the seaters :) Keep up the great posts.
