I'm Kinda Scared To Talk About This..

Out loud...

I don't want to jinx myself.

Can we all knock on some wood before I say this out loud and write it down in black and white?

OK, so did you knock on some wood? Nicely done my friend.

Here goes...

I am no longer sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Yep, it's true.

One of the major reasons I lost the weight was that I was ALWAYS sick and ALWAYS tired.

I remember when I was a fatty, a month couldn't go by without me having some nasty head cold, migraines, tummy bugs, and/or general aches and pains...this list could go on and on.

My bathroom medicine cabinets were well stocked in Pepto, Nyquil, Sudafed, Advil, Tylenol, etc.

With all the nasty colds and bugs going around lately, I had this moment of realization the other day:

{Whispers}: I haven't really been sick for almost two years.  Shhh....

WHAT?! (can you knock on some more wood for me?)

So I ventured into my medicine cabinet yesterday and realized that most of the bottles are still full and expired.

I also find that it is almost impossible to take naps now.  I LOVED naps when I was a fatty.  I could so easily fall asleep anytime/anywhere and sleep for 3 hours.  Easy cheezy.  I guess it was very tiring carrying around an extra 115 lbs.

Now do I nap? Not so much. Very rarely.  'Cuz I'm NOT tired.  What a concept indeed.

This could just be my best non-scale victory (NSV) EVER.

PS: Did you see what I did for some exercise yesterday? Check out Facebook for a crazy pic.

  1. I will turn around 3 times and spit too. I had the exact same thought this weekend.

  2. That has to be the best NSV of all time! I too can attest to the not being as tired, but still I get tired especially when I do not exercise. Exercise is the KEY, it is the GOLDEN TICKET!

Thanks for reminding us all! Hugs

  3. What a great NSV, probably the BEST. It feels amazing to have so much energy, I agree!

  4. You do not need to take a nap because you have a lot of energy!

You were able to create so much positive energy that it was enought to fight sickness and tiredness of your body.

    Congratulations!!!

    Best regards,
    Monika

  5. Interesting... thats my one thing I want to be rid of. Feeling so tired all the time. Its like a constant fatigue thing with me. I hate it! I want the energy to go out and do things. As for sickly... not sure I'll ever be rid of my allergy meds here in Austin. :(

Glad your finally at that place. I hope to be like that soon myself. :)

  7. I do the "I'm afraid to say it out loud because I might jinx it" thing too. Like you, I'm enjoying being more healthy and trying to make it last for the rest of my life. :)You are doing great!!

  8. Robyn and I were just talking last week about how we are hardly ever sick. And...when we get sick, it's like 2 or 3 days tops. I haven't been sick in a good long while (knock wood again!). I'm so grateful.

  12. I never really got sick much before...and still don't. Except for that weird 3 day window this year when I thought I had the plague. And I am still pretty tired some days. AND...I STILL LOVE NAPS. Oh man, I wish I could take them more. But I am like Cinderella and have chores, so there is no time for napping. But whenever heather picks up an extra shift on the weekends my goal is always to nap.

    Crap. NOW I want one.

  13. I have phases where I pick up every bug imaginable, and sometimes I just feel downright crappy even though I'm not really sick. Headaches, etc...

I would hate to give up the naps though. Certain things just make life ... sweeter :)
