Goal Weight: 145 lbs
Last week's weight: 142.4 lbs
Today's Weight: 140.4 lbs
...and since it's the first Friday of the month (I've started a little tradition for myself), here is a reminder for ME to never forget what it feels like to be fat. 'Cuz, to be honest, I'm starting to forget a little.
Here I am in December 2005 (~260 lbs) getting my hair braided in some random Caribbean island (maybe St. Thomas?) 'Cuz if you've been on a Caribbean cruise, you know that's what us ladies occasionally like to do. I remember being so out of breath and HOT, sweaty hot. Ick. I couldn't wait to sit down. Looking back on this photo, I can't get over the ginormous size of my calves. Yikes.
Congrats on getting your weight back to a spot I think you are more comfortable! Great job.
ReplyDeleteAlso - I think our pictures of our pre-band time are so important. Your braided hair looks really good though! : )
I'm pretty sure my calves STILL look like that. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteThat person up there doesn't even look like you! I like this idea though, to remind yourself what it feels like to be fat. I think will steal your idea when I reach maintenance.
ReplyDeleteI love/hate to look back at pictures of myself, but it is really motivational for me!
ReplyDeleteI am always so amazed when I see your before photos. You are such an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI agree with RockBand Barbie - it's unbelievable that that is the same you!!! What a motivational pic!!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYeah but it's kinda awesome that you have pictures of yourself before losing weight. I have almost none. Even after I'd make up my mind to have WLS, I still could not bear to take photos of myself. I love that you have "real" photos of yourself, out living life, not just posing for the camera in "before" pics.
ReplyDeleteI love to see your photo's, it is such a great reminder to us! Unfortunately I deleted any fat photo's I didn't like so that leaves me with...uhm, none! I have to take a look as my 1.5 years is coming up and it would be nice to see a comparison as well! You are such an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing to witness the transformation in your looks. If I ever hit maintenence..... I want to steal this idea too. If it wasn't for our former fat selves (at least for you, I am still working on the former part) making up their minds to have the band, we woud not be lsing weight and gaining back our lives. Never forget her!
ReplyDeleteOMG...that photo could be me! (without the braids for now at least). I am so inspired by your weight loss story. It helps me so much to see you now and know that exercise and eating normally is possible. Please remember how much of an inspiration you are!
ReplyDeleteBandpipes
You have done amazing things and you are a true inspiration, and it is good to keep reminding where you have been and where you came from.
ReplyDeleteYou are living the healthy lifestyle, and you also know how easy it could be to slip back into old habits as you blog about.
Love you!
Wowza.
ReplyDeleteYou really have transformed and are such an inspiration (damn, I keep repeating that.)
Thanks for all you do - you inspire me to keep posting too...
You really are a true inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteWow, you look like a completely different person in the before-picture. I am so happy for you. Congratulations on your weight loss, you look fantastic!
