The All You Can Eat Buffet is...

Closed!

Somebody's gotten a little more fluffy lately...and I don't mean extra fur.

Pemberley's weight is up by 19%!  That's the equivalent of me gaining 27 lbs! WTF.

It seems that somebody's been doing too much of this:
Hot Blankie Cuddles
Yum.
When somebody should be doing more of this:
Playtime
Therefore, the buffet no longer looks like this:

But rather, it looks like this: portion control with a small dish. Boy, does that sounds familiar. 1/4 cup in the morning and 1/4 cup in the evening.

Here's the official before photo:

Stay tuned for the "after" photo.  Someone will be ready for bikini season in no time!

  3. Ha ha ha! What a cutie patootie! 19% is a lot when you are a cat, poor baby, but we all know the health benefits to being a healthy weight, so from that perspective this will all be a good thing! Look forward to updates.

  5. Awwww, she's so precious. I love her smaller bowls and portions too. Though I bet she misses the I <3 Mr. Darcy bowl. I suppose she still has the water bowl.

  6. Isn't it interesting how we'll over feed our pets? I'm still waiting for a post about your trip to London. Was it fabulous?

  12. Love this post, you had me laughing so hard! Had to do the same with my Bella, 10 month old chocolate lab who weighed in at the vets office @ 77 pounds!!! My hubby said she was 'healthy', the nurse begged to differ...so, now she probably thinks we are starving her! Poor animals! ')

  15. I'm sure that being too fat isn't good for cats just like it isn't good for people, but being a big fat fattie actually saved my big boy's life. A couple of years ago he became anemic for reasons we couldn't explain. He didn't have fleas. It was a mystery. I spent over $1,000 on treatments and a blood transfusion. Poor Frodo went from about 17 lbs. to 9 lbs. in just a few months. He was literally wasting away. Eventually he was just laying there, waiting to die. I stopped taking him to the vet because it wasn't helping and he hated it. I figured that I wasn't going to force him to live his remaining days stressed and miserable. He'd stopped eating and drinking and I figured he didn't have much time left. To entice him to eat, I bought some stinky, cheap wet cat food. And of course he couldn't resist! Over the next several weeks, he re-gained all the weight he lost. He completely recovered and will be turning 13 in May. I know if he hadn't had the extra "reserves", he would not have survived.

  16. Ha! Both my cats have gotten fat. I guess I fed them when I was hungry. They're on a diet now, and they don't like it, especially when the puppy gets to their dishes and eats their food!

  17. My Izzy the chubby chihuahua sends Pemberley love. She has been on a reduced diet and exercise program for the past 4 months and is down 1.5 pounds so far. She now weighs 10lbs with 1.5 to go.

  18. Poor baby on portion control!!! It sucks! LOL I almost died when I saw the Before Pic. Absolutely hysterical!!!

I have an overweight poodle. I continually tell her she needs her own lapband. She is food obsessed. I bought her weight control food and mixed it with her reg food and she picked every single piece of the diet food out, the little B!t$h!

Then I put just diet food and she went on a hunger strike. I felt her pain!!
