I Make Exercise My Bitch

Do you know how much weight I would gain each week if I didn't exercise? At least 2 lbs...

Did you know that people keep telling me that I've lost weight, even though I've been at my goal weight for almost 6 months?   My body shape is still changing...due to exercise!

Do you know that I would probably be a size 10 and not a size 4/6 if I didn't exercise?

I make exercise my bitch...that's right...my bitch.

I have done two Zumba classes in the last 24 hours.  Lots of sweat and toning.

When I exercise, I get to eat things like this:
We had a cake and pizza celebration at work yesterday.  It's funny how people sometimes watch me eat now...a few coworkers even commented that there was no way I could eat all of that cake...but I did...'cause it was yummy...I love demystifying the misunderstandings that people have about weight loss surgery, especially the band.

I was very resistant to exercise when I first started my weight loss journey.  I hated exercise in the beginning.  Now, I know that I must do it, no excuses.

PS: I also know that I would never have fit into a size 6 super-inappropriately-short jean mini skirt today at Old Navy with all of that EXERCISE...and yeah...I bought it.  :-)

  1. I'm in the same boat! I am finding that I love what exercise does for me. I also credit you with that inspiration. And yeah, I'd love to see a picture of the super sexy short skirt!

  2. i hear ya on the exercise. I have surgery on Friday and than will not be able to exercise 2-3 weeks for cardio and 4-6 for strength training. I am actually going to miss that. I can honestly say when I got the lapband and was told no exercise for a few weeks, I could care less! What a difference a year makes.

  3. I know what you mean about WLS misconceptions. Just this morning on Yahoo there was a video featuring a woman who lost 300 pounds "without surgery or gimmicks." Several times they said she "did it the old fashioned way." It really irritated me because it kind of implies that WLS is an easy way to lose weight. Plus, the woman originally weighed like 589 lbs and was still pretty overweight even after losing 300. I sure hope she can keep it off...but if she can't, I hope she will consider surgery as a tool to help her.

  9. You totally speak the truth. Not having been able to work out for the last month has made a huge difference in the numbers on the scale and even in how my clothes fit. I'm so glad you show the reality of the Lap Band and the work it takes to be such an amazing success like you are!

  10. First of all...I want that cake. Wowzers, that looks fantastic.

Second, I was just thinking this morning that I basically ran/walked more last week than I ever have in my life, but didn't lose a lot of weight. I ate pretty good, so I wasn't getting it. But I looked in the mirror and I can actually see some definition in my abs and arms and legs. So I am changing!

Exercise is by far very addicting and i'm loving it (coming from another 'I hate exercise' person!)
