Are you ready to get angry too? Well check out this article on Marie Clare.
THIS BLOG by a bariatric doctor did an excellent post on this article today. Love that response comment he posted by Jezebel.
What do you think?
PS: I love, love, love that "Mike & Molly" Show. Just watched it on the DVR last night. :)
I watch Mike & Molly too! :)
ReplyDeleteJust read the article.......so rude! It does make me mad!
ReplyDeleteRead the article--obviously --she has issues her self! I'm glad she apologized-
ReplyDeleteI think if she was truly sorry the article would be pulled? Obviously Marie Claire doesn't mind the publicity, bad or worse. Some people have so many issues with themselves that they spew garbage like that without giving it a single thought, that is the only part of the apology I truly believe.
ReplyDeleteI have words for the the author of that article but they are *beyond* un-ladylike.
ReplyDeleteI don't buy her apology for one millisecond either.
Wow. Just wow. Off to read the other article now.
ReplyDeleteI really can't believe that Marie Claire actually published that article....seriously! I'm all about expressing opinions even when they are polar opposite to mine, but it wasn't even a well written opinion piece. SIGH.
ReplyDeleteI'm seething. What a disgusting article. I hope that the author develops a thyroid condition and balloons to 500 pounds. She is an ugly person. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteOMG...seriously?! That was a disgusting article...I am so glad that she can relate us to heroine addicts and alcoholics...cuz, yeah, we are so the same. SMH. Yeah...you're right...got me angry too! =/
ReplyDeleteGood reason to never buy Marie Claire again!
ReplyDeleteThe article is insensitive and I can't believe it was published. However, I have to say that I'm not crazy about Mike and Molly. The self-depreciating fat remarks they constantly make gets on my nerves. I love both the actors and have find them extremely funny in other shows, but not so much on this one.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the author of the article has added a huge apology to the end of the article. Although I am disgusted by what he/she had to say, I am not surprised. People really do look at fat people that way and they really do view us as completely disfunctional, broken people.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying the show a lot. I think it is about time! I love both actors.
Wow! Just...wow. This saddens me....once I got passed being totally pissed off.
ReplyDeleteYou know from her apology it is obvious that the author is slightly off. She said her comments sprang from her eating disordered history. The sad thing is that fat discrimination is very real.
ReplyDeletewow... that article was all kinds of wrong. follwed by a weak attempt of an apology.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have that show here in Australia so I can't comment on the show.
