Wanna See My Wobbly Bits? Spanx Review!

I've got my share of loose skin.  For me, it's a necessary evil after my large amount of weight loss.  There's only so much that exercise will do for my body's appearance.  My muffin top is here to stay. Oh well. C'est la vie.  For me, the health benefits of my weight loss far outweigh any skin appearance issues.

Luckily, I've become somewhat skilled at disguising my extra skin on a daily basis.  I will usually wear a tight camisole under my shirts but sometimes a girl needs extra containment of the muffin toppage.

So when I was flipping through the channels the other day and came across QVC and their full hour Spanx show....I was instantly glued to the TV.  And of course, those sales ladies convinced me to fork over my credit card number.  They make it SO easy to spend money on that channel.  Damn it.

Anyways, I decided on the "Open Bust Camisole" size small.  Therefore, I could wear my usual everyday bras with it.

Here's what it looks like on the model.  By the way, why do the models on that website never look like they need Spanx? Just sayin':

Well, my QVC package arrived yesterday and here are the results:

Without Spanx (side):

To put it on, I step into it, not over the head. Not the most easiest task in the world, but doable.  Here's what it looks like on:

Here's the after (don't forget to check out my awesome grandma floppy arms):

I am surprised how comfortable it is on!  All the wobbly bits feel contained.  There's something so wonderful about that feeling.

What I like about it is that it contains the tummy and muffin top while not squishing the girls.  I think it even lifts the girls up a bit. Bonus!  It stays down and tucked into my jeans.

I probably won't wear it every day...maybe once or twice a month (special occasions/etc).

  2. what smoothing!! I have a few power underwear brands of my own up here in the north. I got a style similar to yours but not Spanx brand at Nordy's a while back. It tends to roll up from the bottom. Let me know if yours is better as I would invest in a good one if it worked.

My fave is the high waisted shorts. Even this at the end of a long evening might roll down a touch from the top but not too badly.

Do let me know how they go..inquiring minds want to know! :) I can always use a good pair of loose skin smoothing power :)

    xxxooo

  5. That is amazing, but I love my spanks, have been wearing the panty one with my dresses for about a year. It makes a HUGE difference.

  8. I don't wear the Spanx brand but I am a true believer in wearing one of those 1 piece button at the crotch body suits (sort of like a bathing suit) that I have dubbed "My fat sucky inny thingy". It is great for dresses, as it gived you a nice steamlined look and I also wear with with my skinny jeans and a fitted shirt to prefent muffin top.

  10. Thanks for the review. I've always been curious about Spanx. Does it really stay down when going about your everyday tasks, like bending over to tie your shoes and such?

  15. I wear something like this (not Spanx brand, but the same thing) EVERY SINGLE DAY to work. I'm so used to it now that wearing it all the time isn't TOO uncomfortable, but you'd better bet that I take it off within seconds of walking through the door at night. I'm still pre-band (aka FAT) but I have found that it helps with the jiggle, which helps with the self-confidence. Love mine!

  17. I have something similar, but it's the bodysuit (not Spanx brand tho). I love that I can wear my own bras with it, so if I want a "boobie" bra or a normal bra, I can just wear whichever I want. It really smooths me out and helps me look great!

I may have to do a similar post - thanks for the inspiration!

  18. Thanks for reviewing these, I've had my eyes on them for a while. Now I will definitely get some. I have so much shapewear that I've bought online, usually from the US because it is so much cheaper than here in Aus but unfortunately without much success. I recently got some camis here that I wear quite often but they flatten my boobs a bit. This Spanx number looks just perfect for holding the wobbly bits in but keeping the puppies out.

You look great by the way.

  22. That is amazing. I know the magic pants work great but never even dreamed anything else could have such an impact. Now I just need them to make invisible arm sleeves.
