A Letter To My Lap Band

Dear Band,

Since I had you unfilled a smidge in early September, you've been M.I.A.  No biggie, just a little more work for me.  And do you know what?  I'm OK with that.

Thanks for letting me eat and drink everything that wasn't nailed down in Chicago.  It was fun.

What I don't understand is why you have all of a sudden decided to show up on the scene these last few days?  Hello restriction.

Yep, thanks for that semi-stuck feeling last night while I shoved a big piece of chocolate cake down my pie hole.  It was super awesome...oh and the heartburn that followed? Good times.  I needed that reminder that I ate way too fast.  But then you seemed to have no problem with the Frito's chips that I chose as a nice chaser to the cake.

Why are you sometimes so loose and then sometimes are right there, front and center ready to do your job?

If I were to give you a job performance review, I would give you a big fat ZERO for consistency.

What does a girl have to do around here for some dependable unchanging level of restriction?

Are you in kahoots with Island Bandit's band? It seems that her band is playing games too.

Is it the recent change in weather that causes your restriction level to change?

Perhaps my stress levels are up?

Or maybe it's because the planets are no longer aligned with the moons and stars?

I have an appointment to get you filled up a bit on Monday.  Will I cancel the appointment? I don't know.

But what I do know is that I would never trade you in or get rid of you.

Without you and a whole lot of hard work on my part, I know that I would have never been able to squeeze myself into those size seven skinny jeans this morning at Target...yep, and they even zipped up!

  3. I freaking adore you. Seriously hon. I love the way you write and the way you really work your band. Can I say mmmm about the cake and fritos? Even though that's not really on my healthy foods list as I'm still mid stream of the losing process, I do look forward to having treats like that occasionally while in maintenance.

Sorry the band is being a bit fickle these days. Keep us posted on how the fill/or not goes!

  4. And PS - I think it may be IE9 that's giving me fits about commenting w/word verification because I'm able to post on your blog no problems at home using Chrome. Yay!
