We stand in rows.
We chant.
Then we pray to the Zumba God.
Just kidding.
None of that stuff happens.
But it does seem cult-like at times.
What I do know is it's ALWAYS fun.
Because I shake my butt, roll my hips, and booty drop down to the floor.
Here's a pic from this weekend's Zumba class:
I discovered Zumba about three years ago.
I've Zumba'd in a lot of different places...Florida, Chicago, Oregon, etc.
I never know what to expect when I try out a new Zumba class.
What I have discovered recently is that one of thee best Zumba instructors pretty much EVER is teaching classes near me...here in the Wine Country of California. This chick can jump too:
Here's my buddy, Gina, and I after Zumba class...completely sweaty and enjoying our post-Zumba glow!

Wow! That looks like a fun class!
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful that you love Zumba so much and talk about it frequently, you are the inspiration that got me to attend my first Zumba. I love it and can't imagine my exercise routine without it!! The only bad thing is I wish it were more times a week than 2!!! Because it is that much fun!!
ReplyDeleteWait, you *don't* chant and bow to the Zumba gods?? Hmm, I know I usually end up praying to someone that I'll be able to finish my Zumba class!
ReplyDeleteNow if I could just get that booty-shake move down.....
it's on my list of things to try
ReplyDeleteYour Zumba instructor looks FIERCE (in a good way!) I might actually venture out into the real world of Zumba instead of my comfort bubble of Wii Zumba... someday!
ReplyDeleteAlso- Thanks for your delurking post! I have finally come out of the shadows and started my own :) You're a super fantastic inspiration Lap Band gal!
I love Zumba! I recently tried aquaZumba, and I couldn't believe how much I worked out doing that. It was a one hour aqua Zumba followed by an hour of regular Zumba. I can't do it all the time due to time committments, but it is a nice option. Tonight, I skipped the aqua and just did the regular class.
