I know that some of you bandsters are very private about your lap band journey...it's a chance for you to share some serious feelings, what's going on in your life, and your weight (which is a sensitive subject, banded or not). I totally get that and understand how blogging is like a private journal or diary that you only share with certain people.
In contrast, I'm rather an "open book" with my journey. I share my blog address with anyone who asks or shows an interest. I especially like to share my blog link with those fellow bandsters at my surgeon's support group. I noticed at support groups that I was writing my blog link on backs of receipts, slips of paper, etc. So for about $8 (incl shipping) I designed my own business cards (250!) to hand out when someone asks for it.
I blurred out my real name, which appears at the bottom of the card (for internet security purposes). I wish that I had used all white lettering...oh well, still gets the job done.
I made the cards at vistaprint.com (I have no affiliation with this company, I just noticed they were the cheapest)
I had thought about doing this too since I kept writing my blog address on the back of my work business card (which I don't particularly like doing). I also used Vistaprint for some of my wedding stuff 4 years ago -- they are cheap and fast!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Hmmm....I may have to actually do this now!
What a great idea! I've ordered cards from Vista print too. They do good work, but they will pester you with near-constant emails.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome idea!!! Those are so adorable!
ReplyDeleteVery cute, I used vistaprint all the time, they are super cheap!
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful creative idea- good for you! Your very courageous to be so open about your journey, and I'm positive that it has helped many people on their own journeys! Thanks for sharing these with us.
ReplyDeleteI'm on the fence about sharing my blog info. I guess I am afraid people will judge me if I have a bad day. I don't mind comments from fellow banders but when some skinny bit*h that hasn't been overweight a day in her life tries to give me advise...I nearly blow my lid! Love the cards they are beautiful! I have used Vistaprint in the past and find that they are reliable and make quality products!
ReplyDeleteThose look great! I have also used Vistaprint and have been very happy with the results. :)
ReplyDeleteThey look great. I played around with some online today but got distracted by work...I'll have to try again tomorrow. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea....no one knows I have a band though!!!
ReplyDeleteThe cards are very stylish and chic! How many have you handed out so far? You'd doing some great outreach!! I like the new header too!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea and maybe when I get further along I will do something similar. I think I will be more open about my surgery after I get it done right now I don't want to hear everyone's opinions lol. Thanks for stopping by newish blog and showing love.
