It's a Privilege

I was recently watching the show "Medium" which is a drama about a psychic who works with the Phoenix Police Dept and District Attorney's office.  Love that show!

Anyways, one scene showed the District Attorney negotiating with a prisoner...telling him that if he could provide information about a crime, the DA would have the Prison Warden expand the prisoners' privileges.

Guess what the main privilege that was discussed?

EXERCISE!

Yes, exercise is a privilege in prison.

Think about that the next time you are too tired, too busy, or too "whatever" to get your body moving.

Why do we limit ourselves with these self-created "prisons" by not exercising?

What did you do today to move your body through space?

I took a 20 minute power walk around the office buildings at lunch and tonight is Zumba Toning and Zumba...90 minutes. I'm gonna get my sweat on!

PS: tomorrow is weigh-in day...too much fun on vacation has caught up with me...not looking good.

  1. I wanna do Zumba. I've heard it's fun! I'm sure tonight class will take care of any post-vaca poundage! Have fun!
I just had surgery about a week ago so I am still limited to lighter exercise. Today (and for the past two days, I might add) I walked the hallway in my apartment building. The hallway has 20 apartments so it's a good walk. I did 10 laps, back and forth. Enough to get my heart pumping but not exerting myself.

  2. I did ZUMMA! I have started telling myself it's my job.. when I don't want to go to the gym. It's MY job to take care of my body. And you know a week and vacation gain will be gone.

  3. I jogged twice with my new Rottie and just got back from Zumba. I feel so blessed that I can physically move! I have 2 wonderful friends who have arthritis and are not able to do what I do. I think of them every time I go to the gym. Nice post!

  5. Very good point! We take so many things like this for granted.

Today was another dental visit for me, so I've been doped up on the sofa all day... no physical activity at all. Yesterday I got in a 3 mile walk. Hoping I'll feel up til a light walk tomorrow.

Hope the scale is kind to you tomorrow. :)
